Regency GEORGIAN brass trim inlay inlaid tea card console table ANTIQUE c. 1820
WEAR , dirt and defects. An English card table. Base ,Legs are firm , 3 casters good each working , with one only not swivelling leading to a wobble if the wheel is not set correctly .All feet and wheels are original. The legs and stem and frame appear to be 100% original and untampered with. The table is firm with only slight wobble. Very minor cracks or splits . Lid has slight aperture when closed ,but it is even , an restricted to the front centre, not the sides. The folding top reveals a cavity for keeping cards . The item is in good unrestored condition. High quality. A rare probably original baize [ defects ].I think it is mahogany though it has tones approaching rosewood/walnut. The stem is flat and perhaps derives from a lyre profile. The legs have a slightly French Empire flavour even Federal. The brasses are flat and well attached. Some brass stringing is missing.
