Chinese ANTIQUE fine carved wood wooden figure carvings PAIR FIGURES fishermen

Fine. Circa 1940 to 1960. A true pair as they face each other. Wear , dirt , defects. A good large size, Good colour and patina. A fish eye is replaced with a basic substitute . An area of basic repair to woodwork of left fishtail . The figures are handcarved as evidenced by chiselled bases. Good carved detail even of the backs. One basket [bottom left] has a hole , as do both top fish head mouths. Probably former lamp bases. These are no sconces of other parts associated with these holes/voids , electrical fittings included in the sale.
