Professionally relined with sundry retouchings and repair . A possibly slightly reduced size canvas in early 20th C frame. Plumed helmet , arm guards , breastplate. Sword . Sunburst sun / cartouch denoting ‘ Michael ‘ in latin . Slayed dragon / evil with coiled tail. Fire border to Dragon.

The last image shows a Neapolitan earlier version ‘ source painting ‘ version after Massimo Stanzione , painted by /attributed to Guiseppe Marullo [ Naples 1615 to 1685.]

The painting we are selling , is a version of that painting , without shield , and with dragon.
