Bronze or bronze patinated copper alloy ,dirt ,defects. Sculptor Johannes Boese (1856-1917, item cast after death of ; or in lifetime of Johannes Boese ). The last image shows a similar one [with applied base ] sold earlier on 1stdibs at £1170.12. The example we have has better casting overall with better definition for example around eyes. our example is possibly earlier. A disc of crumpled old /card with felt has been removed by us to inspect / photograph the insides. This old base cover is included .
