A small Italy region , possibly provincial Maltese or Sicilian oil on relined canvas ;circa 1800 . Eastern early raised hand denoting ICXC typical of Greek to Russian Jesus paintings/icons. The style /symbolism has/had migrated to western holy paintings and can be found for example with the Salvator Mundi [s] . The painting has no chalice and has a rendition of coiled curled hair in early style. A garum dish appears to be present.
