An originally oval  portrait of woman holding an English Bullfinch ,  copying a similar earlier painting [ image 3 /not included in sale ] by  George Henry Harlow (10 June 1787 – 4 February 1819) ; who was an English painter known mostly for his portraits . The sitter is ”’possibly”’ the painter’s sister [ Miss Anne Harlow ; see oval the picture from V and A museum London ] who wears the same coral beads in a very similar portrait . Detail to rear indicates a date of 1805.
